 Research

  • Mechanistic basis of mRNA fate decisions
  • Regulation of mRNA translation and decay

We are interested in understanding the mechanistic basis of mRNA fate decisions. An mRNA in the cytoplasm can get translated, remain stored in a translationally repressed state or get degraded. Transition of mRNAs between these functional states plays a crucial role in various cellular processes and disease conditions. We aim to understand the above functional transitions using a combination of genetic, biochemical, imaging and genomic approaches.
